At 3400 meters altitude every form of life ceases to exist, at that altitude, nature becomes the enemy of man. Today, we have access to modern technology and advanced scientific inventions that can take men to other planets, when you consider how many years ago in which these men were fighting, its still hard to believe and understand how the alpine troupes of the Great War were able to go on living in such extreme and inaccessible conditions.
