For a long time now, two hikers have been exploring the enchanting and almost inaccessible mountains of Gennargentu in Sardinia, becoming increasingly passionate about a land that, due to its harsh conditions, has kept the testimony of a past life essentially intact. The traces left on the territory as well as the tales of the local community of shepherds in Ogliastra are testimony to the severe way of life in the Supramonte: the strenuous effort put into raising goats in the rugged mountains, the vital climbing techniques without harnesses in order to reach the sheepfolds at high altitudes, the search for water hidden deep under the karst rocks, the cultivation of wheat in arid and mostly unproductive strips of land.As as result of international studies singling out this part of Sardinia as a Blue Zone - an area with a high concentration of centenarians.By retracing the rough trails left by the shepherds, sometimes even marked as prohibited, they recount the tales of brave men.
